National Salvation Army Week

In honor of National Salvation Army Week, The Salvation Army, Valley of the Sun, will be hosting several special events and promotions from Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 15.


Monday, May 11:  The Salvation Army in Tempe and 1865 Coffee, will be hosting free coffee and donuts from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. ALT AZ 93-3 radio station will be on hand with music and promotions. The Salvation Army coffee shop, 1865 coffee, will offer a complimentary coffee drink for any graduating ASU student. 1856 coffee will run the coffee promotion for the whole week, May 11 through May 15. The Salvation Army Tempe is located at 714, S Myrtle Ave, Tempe AZ. 


Wednesday, May 13:  The mobile canteen will be at The Salvation Army Family Stores, in Tempe from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with coffee and donuts. 95.1 The Oasis will be on site with prize giveaways and entertainment. Receive the best deals of the week, with the 50% off sale, all day. The Tempe store is located at 2324 N. Scottsdale Rd., Tempe, AZ. The 50% off sale is good at all Salvation Army Family Stores, Wednesday, May 13. 


Friday, May 15: Join the mobile canteen at The Salvation Army KROC Community Center, South Mountain, located at 1375 E. Broadway Road, Phoenix, AZ. Enjoy refreshments and learn more about this state of the art community center. The KROC Center will feature a one day sale providing a deep discount on swim lessons Receive eight swim lessons for only 20 dollars per person.

The very first National Salvation Army Week was declared by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954 as a reminder to Americans that they should give freely of themselves.
